On Wednesday in Dothan, Alabama, there was a tragic murder-suicide incident involving a recently divorced couple.
The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Reinetta Lewis. Reinetta lewis dothan AL was fatally shot multiple times in the front yard of her home on Bunche Street shortly after noon.
While police have not officially named the suspect, multiple sources indicate it was Reinetta's ex-husband, Ansell Elijah Lewis dothan AL.

After shooting Reinetta, Ansell then went inside the home and took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Just days before the shooting, on February 26th, Reinetta had filed for a protection order against Ansell, her ex-husband of around 3 years. In the filing, she stated that Ansell had bipolar disorder and would have destructive temper tantrums that damaged their home and yard.
Court records show Reinetta had filed for divorce from Ansell in December 2022, and their divorce was finalized on February 24th, just days before she requested the protection order against him.
The Dothan Police are still investigating the full details behind this tragic murder-suicide involving the recently divorced couple. But it appears Ansell fatally shot his ex-wife Reinetta before killing himself shortly after.
