Dr. Kevin Thomas Schlamp was born on November 25, 1955 in Calgary, Ontario, Canada to Violet and Donald. He was able to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor.
Kevin schlamp md graduated medical school from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He completed his residency in family medicine in Regina, Saskatchewan and worked as a clinical professor there. Known as "Doc", he started as an emergency room doctor in Canada before moving to Sulphur, Louisiana in 1994 to open his own private practice until his passing. He was proud of being a Canadian and American citizen, often wearing shorts in cold weather.

Dr. Schlamp dedicated his life to healing others, even joking he would only stop being a doctor when they put a "toe tag" on him. He served as a medical director at several facilities and held leadership roles at hospitals. He taught at Tulane University, was board certified in family medicine and wound care. Dr. Schlamp generously provided free care and worked late to ensure his patients received the best care possible.
His motto was "tell the truth, work hard, and love your family" which he lived by. He took great pride in his wife Bridget, five children Brooklyn, Lexi, Angelina, Griffin, Jacqueline, and two grandchildren Aceton and Gabby. Dr. Schlamp enjoyed simple pleasures like coffee, grilled cheese, reading about history/philosophy, and hiking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Susan.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 7 from 4-8pm. His memorial service is Friday, March 8 at 10am at the funeral home.
