A 29-year-old woman named Kiauna Newsom Memphis has been charged with first-degree murder. The police say that Kiauna and a 32-year-old man named Justin Howard killed a man named George Harris by mistake.
They thought George Harris was Kiauna's ex-boyfriend, but he was not. George Harris was just sitting in a car that belonged to Kiauna's ex-boyfriend when he was shot multiple times on Saturday.

After finding George Harris dead, the police interviewed Kiauna's ex-boyfriend. He said that George was his roommate, and he believed he was the intended target because he had just argued with Kiauna.
Security camera footage showed a gray Nissan car with body damage following the car that George Harris was driving. The next day, police arrested Kiauna at a residence where the damaged gray Nissan was parked.
Kiauna allegedly told the police that she and Justin Howard had followed her ex-boyfriend's car. She said she pulled up next to the car, and then Justin took out a rifle and fired several shots, killing George Harris.
After Kiauna identified Justin in a police lineup, he was also arrested. Both Kiauna and Justin have been charged with first-degree murder and are currently in jail. It's not clear if they have entered a plea or have a lawyer yet.
